Maria Hilf Church in Constance

The Maria-Hilf-Kirche is a Roman Catholic church building in Konstanz .

description

On August 1, 1963, the new parish Maria hilf der Christenheit was founded from parts of the parishes of St. Georg Allmannsdorf and St. Gebhard Petershausen . In 1967 the new parish church was completed. The church building was designed by the architect Franz Hitzel , significantly influenced by the liturgical reform after the Second Vatican Council . Hitzel renounced the usual long form of churches, and based himself on the original form of every meeting, the circular form, for the layout of the church area in which the community gathers around the priest to celebrate the service. Accordingly, the Maria-Hilf-Kirche is a hexagonal building, the walls of which are mainly made of colored glass.
