Toni Claar-Eibenschütz

Toni Claar-Eibenschütz , née Antonia Eibenschütz ( June 28, 1866 in Frankfurt am Main - 1946 in Gmunden ) was an Austrian theater actress and opera singer .

Life

Claar-Eibenschütz, the daughter of Karl Friedrich Eibenschütz (1829–1874), Austrian opera singer (baritone), and Adele Eibenschütz , née. Marochetti (1833-1893), chamber singer, found after she had attended the Conservatory in Cologne as a student of Benno Stolzenberg , in 1890 engagement in Regensburg (first role "Siebel" in Faust ), worked from 1892 to 1894 in Bielitz and Franzensbad , from From 1895 to 1897 in Salzburg , Karlsbad , Bad Ischl and in 1898 joined the Association of the Linz State Theater , which her husband Hans Claar directed.

She was one of the most valuable members of the Linz ensemble; she was known as the best operetta singer from Linz up to that point.

There she worked in both opera and operetta roles until 1902. She then performed there until around 1905.

Mainly she sang from the soubrette compartment like "Marie" in the regiment daughter , "Ännchen" in Freischütz , "Rosalinde" and "Adele" in Fledermaus , "Marie" in the armorer , "Zerline" in Don Giovanni and the " Schöne Helena " from Offenbach.

After the death of her husband, she ran the Gmundner Theater-Kino.
