Maria Groenefeld

Maria Grönefeld (* 1941 in Münster ; † January 1, 1993 ) was a German educator. She was involved in the women's movement and in the Christian working-class youth . After the reception of the foundation named after her, she is considered to be the “mediator of liberation theological thinking” in Germany.

Life

In 1978, Grönefeld became head of the KAB and CAJ educational and meeting center in the Aachen diocese . She worked as a consultant, gave lectures, mediated in social conflicts, built bridges between churches, trade unions and companies, promoted the practical relevance of science and founded adult education theoretically. Today a foundation builds on her life's work.
