Maria Lypp

Maria Lypp (* 1935 as Maria Kallinowsky) is a German Germanist whose main research focus is children's literature .

Lypp studied German and Classical Philology in Freiburg and Berlin. In 1969 she received her doctorate with a thesis on Goethe's Hermann and Dorothea .

Her habilitation thesis Simplicity as a Category of Children's Literature was published in 1984.

Lypp is a professor emeritus for modern German literature and its didactics at the University of Dortmund .
