Maria Merta

Maria Merta (born February 20, 1950 in Preetz ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Merta attended elementary and secondary school and did a commercial apprenticeship as a shop window designer . She then worked as a finance and payroll clerk in companies in the food and beverage industry and trained in the middle telecommunications service with a final examination in the fields of telecommunications administration, household and subscriber services. In 1984 she became an employee of the SPD regional association and the social democratic community for local politics in Schleswig-Holstein, most recently as head of the SGK office.

In 1976 Merta joined the SPD. Here she was initially involved as an assessor and (deputy) chairwoman of the SPD local associations in Nortorf and Groß Vollstedt . In addition, she was at times a civil member, city councilor and deputy parliamentary group leader in Nortorf, member of the youth, school and sports committee, social and cultural committee, member of the sponsorship committee of the German minority in Rinkenis , community representative and deputy mayor in Groß Vollstedt as well as member of finance - and culture committee in the areas of school, kindergarten and sport. From 1990 to 1995 Merta was a member of the works council of the SPD regional association. On January 25, 1995, she moved to the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein, to which she was a member until 1996.
