architecture

The architecture of the church is characterized by strict geometry and clear forms. It has a round floor plan . The altar is located on a round gallery, the pews enclose it almost completely. Attention is drawn to the altar through various architectural means: in front of and in the church there are lines leading to the altar. The only window in the church is above the altar, immersing it in the middle of the light. The pavement of the forecourt extends through the main entrance to the altar.

Works of art

Way of the Cross

Klaus Franz had planned a way of the cross at the entrance from the lower church to the church, which could never be realized. The concrete blocks now not only invite children to play. In 1991 a way of the cross made of natural stone mosaic by the artist Otto Habel from Leinfelden was installed in the lower church .

Virgin Mary statue "Mary teaches Jesus to pray"

Near the slightly raised chancel, next to the tabernacle , there is a statue that was created in 1974 by the artist Maria Elisabeth Stapp. You can see Mary with an implied crown, corresponding to the name of the church, and Jesus praying, raising their hands.

Pipe organ

After the church had to make do with a provisional electric organ for almost 30 years, a new instrument from Fischer & Krämer Orgelbau was inaugurated on Sunday, December 1st, 2002, after six months of construction . Long-term acoustic studies preceded the organ building, as the acoustics of the church with its circular floor plan are very difficult to calculate.

Divergent I.

Since the Landeskunstwochen 1997 in Fellbach, a 7-meter-high metal rod by the artist Robert Schad , who lives in France, has been on the meadow in front of the church .
