Maria Serebriakova

Maria Serebriakova (* 1965 in Moscow ) is a Russian - German artist who is based in Berlin .

Serebriakova works in the fields of installation , graphics , object art and photography . She commutes between Belgium, France and Germany. Her understanding of art refers to the Moscow conceptualism of the late 1980s. In reference to Ludwig Wittgenstein , she is of the opinion that art expresses that which cannot be put into words.

Maria Serebriakova took part in documenta IX  in Kassel and in the 1st and 2nd Moscow Biennale .
