Maria Stangl

Maria Stangl (born May 27, 1928 in Roßhof , Lower Styria , † August 12, 2017 in Preding ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. Stangl was a member of the National Council from 1979 to 1986 .

After compulsory school, Stangl attended a business school and continued his education at the one-year agricultural and forestry college. She attended adult education courses for farmers in Germany and in 1958 passed the master's examination for rural housekeeping. Stangl completed her agricultural practice as a business clerk at the Silberberg wine-growing school and was a housekeeper in the Graz Farmers' Association and, from 1951 to 1959, worked at the Raiffeisenhof agricultural school in Graz. She was awarded the professional title of economist.

Stangl was the first country manager of the Styrian rural youth from 1950 to 1957 and was then a member of the Preding municipal council from 1967 to 1980. She was also vice mayor between 1974 and 1980. From 1963 she also acted as deputy head of the Austrian women's movement of the ÖVP Styria, from 1964 she was a member of the board of the Styrian farmers' union and chamber councilor of the regional chamber for agriculture and forestry for Styria. From 1976 she also worked as chairwoman of the Housekeeping Advisory Board of the State Chamber for Agriculture and Forestry for Styria. Stangl represented the ÖVP from February 13, 1979 to October 6, 1986 in the National Council.
