Regular events

Mountain Festival

Every year, during the week around the Visitation of the Virgin Mary (July 2nd), the mountain festival takes place on Mariahilfberg , with a secular part as well as the church part. The pilgrims are supplied with beer and sausages, but no music is played. The pilgrimage festival goes back to the plague epidemic of 1634.

Amberg World Theater

The musical Amberger Welttheater - The Autumn of the Winter King by Roger E. Boggasch and Johannes Reitmeier was premiered in 2009 for the 975th anniversary of the city of Amberg and is to be performed every 5 years. The next performances, u. a. with the rock band Vanden Plas will take place from May 24th to June 10th, 2019.
