Marian Wróbel
Marian Wróbel (born January 1, 1907 in Krukienice near Lemberg , † April 25, 1960 in Warsaw ) was a Polish chess composer .
Life
Wróbel studied Polish philology in Lviv and Warsaw , where he completed his master's degree in 1932 . At first he went into the school service, but he broke off this activity due to health problems and was transferred to the school administration.
He published his first chess composition in 1922, published a total of 430 exercises, of which 161 won prizes (88 of them were the first). His specialty were two and three-passers. 44 of his problems were published on the FIDE albums . In 1956, FIDE awarded him the title of International Chess Composition Referee , and in 2015 he was posthumously International Chess Composition Master .
Wróbel, who, alongside Dawid Przepiórka, is considered to be the most important Polish chess composer, was very active as a publicist: he edited numerous Polish chess newspapers and chess columns, and also published three important books on chess composition.
