Marianne Marthinsen (born August 25, 1980 in Jevnaker ) is a Norwegian politician of the social democratic Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). She has been a member of the Storting since 2005 .

Life

After finishing school in 1999, she worked as general secretary of the youth organization Arbeidernes Ungdomsfylking (AUF) in Oslo until 2001 . Between 2000 and 2001 she also served as vice chairman of the UP in Oslo. In 2001 she began studying economics. From 2002 to 2003 she finally acted as a consultant for international matters at AUF, before working as an editorial assistant at Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK) from 2003 to 2005 .

Marthinsen moved into the Norwegian national parliament in Storting for the first time in the 2005 general election , where she represents Oslo. From 2005 to 2012 she was a member of the Energy and Environment Committee, and in October 2012 she switched to the Finance Committee. Finally, between June 2014 and September 2017, she served as the committee's first vice-chair. After the 2017 election , she began working on the Foreign and Defense Committee. Between September 2011 and September 2013 she was a member of the parliamentary committee of the Arbeiderpartiet.

In February 2020, she stated that she would not run for a seat again in the 2021 general election . She stated that internal party relations are one of the reasons for this. In 2017, party leader Jonas Gahr Støre replaced her in her position as the party's financial policy spokesperson with Trond Giske .
