Marianne Pieper

Marianne Pieper (* 1949 in Hamburg ) is a German sociologist.

Life

She studied sociology, psychology, education, political science and economics at the School of Economics and Politics and the University of Hamburg (1990 Promotion of phil Dr.. ). In the DFG project "Opportunities and risks of genetically enhanced Pränatsaldiagnostik" at the University of Hamburg, she was from 1990 to 1994 research assistant . She held a chair at the Institute for Sociology at the University of Hamburg (1991–1992). From 1994 to 1996 she held a C-4 professorship for qualitative empirical social research at the University of Kassel . After completing his habilitation in 1996 at the University of Magdeburg on the subject: Between risk scenarios and 'good hope'. She taught future parenthood under the sign of invasive prenatal diagnostics as a professor (1996–2015) for sociology in Hamburg with a focus on “cultures, genders, differences”.
