history

Until 1991, the United States Air Forces in Europe operated the Zweibrücken Air Base . After their departure, a conversion project began, including the Zweibrücken civil airfield and an extensive industrial area. In 2001 the largest outlet center in Germany at the time opened. The outlet center changed hands several times. First it belonged to the British company McArthurGlen , then to the Spanish Neinver group or its subsidiary Irus European Retail Property Fund . The operator has been Venture Via Outlets since 2017 . With the change of ownership, there were also name changes. Initially named the outlet as the “Designer Outlet Zweibrücken”, the name changed with the change to Neinver to “Zweibrücken The Style Outlets” and finally to “Zweibrücken Fashion Outlet”.

In 2015 around 3.8 million customers visited the outlet center, around a quarter of them from abroad.
