Mariano Roque Alonso
Mariano Roque Alonso Romero (* 1792 ; † 1853 ) was consul of Paraguay from February 9, 1841 to March 14, 1841 . Alonso was the (partial) mayor of Asunción , the capital of the country , under Francia . After the death of dictator Francia, he had allied himself with Carlos Antonio López , who was exiled by his uncle Francia. At first Alonso was consul and López his secretary. In the same year the two installed a congress, which on March 14, 1841 appointed both consuls. On March 13, 1844, Alonso resigned and López took over all power.
