marie & the redCat was a German pop band .
history
The band included singer Marie Neumann, guitarist Wolfgang Morenz, drummer Sebastian Rotard, bassist Johann Seifert and keyboard player Florian Donaubauer. Founded in 2008 at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg , the group released their first EP Golden Cage in summer 2010 . In 2010 the group took part in the PopCamp of the German Music Council. In November 2010 they appeared in the opening act for the Sons of Mannheim .
After another EP Little Notes (April 27, 2012) and the single Beautiful Day (August 24, 2012), their debut album Home was released on September 14, 2012 . This was followed by the single The One on April 19, 2013 . At the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, the band has been part of the play Time to Love, Time to Die since March 2012 .
On October 25, 2013, the band announced their split on their official website.

According to the record label, the music by marie & the redCat is “warm English-speaking acoustic pop”, according to the German Music Council “acoustic pop with influences from folk, soul and blues”.
