Marie Bernard-Meunier

Marie Bernard-Meunier (* 1948 ) is on the Canadian side of the board of directors of the Atlantik-Brücke association and was Canadian ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany from 2000 to 2004 .

During her studies, which she completed with a Masters Degree in Political Science at the University of Montreal , she came into intensive contact with Germany for the first time. She initially worked in Canadian administration in the Investment and Technology division (1976–1979) and in the field of cooperation with developing countries (1983–1985). From 1989 to 1993 she was Canada's Ambassador to UNESCO , and was elected to its governing body in 1989, since 1991 as President.

From 1993 to 1996 she was Director General for International Organizations in the Canadian government , then until 2000 Canada's Ambassador to the Netherlands . From 2004 to 2005 she was a visiting scholar in the America Department at the German Institute for International Politics and Security ( Science and Politics Foundation ) in Berlin .

Marie Bernard-Meunier has a son.
