Marie C. Jerge

Marie C. Jerge (* 195x in Mineola , New York ) is an American Lutheran bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

Life

After finishing school, Jerge studied and earned a bachelor's degree from Smith College in Northampton , Massachusetts . She received her Masters in Theology from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia . In 2002 Jerge was elected to succeed Bishop Lee M. Miller as Bishop of the Upstate New York Synod in the ELCA. Jerge is married to the Lutheran pastor James N. Jerge.
