Marie Davids (* 1847 in Rendsburg , † 1905 in Berlin ) was a German painter .

life and work

Marie Davids was a student of Alexander Struys . She lived and worked in Berlin and mainly created portraits . She was represented at international exhibitions in Berlin in 1896 and in St. Louis in 1904 . Only in 1889 is an entry in the Berlin address book with the place of residence Bülowstrasse 21. In 1897 she moved to Nollendorfstrasse 10. In the year of her death, a studio was registered at Lützowstrasse 82 in Berlin-Tiergarten. Her painting Fräulein von Sydow was included in the book Women Painters of the World .
