Marie Ringler (born August 31, 1975 in Vienna ) is Ashoka's European Head . She is a former Austrian politician for the Greens . Since 2011 she has been Ashoka's Country Director for Austria and Central and Eastern Europe.

From 1993 to 2002 she studied sociology , political science and women's studies in Vienna and holds an MBA from the University of St. Gallen. She worked at Public Netbase , among other things as managing director.

From 2001 to 2010 she was the culture and technology spokesperson for the Vienna Green Party and a councilor and member of the state parliament in Vienna. As part of her political activities, extensive advisory work on art and cultural policy, new technologies and privacy issues. On the Viennese state list for the 2006 National Council election, she was ranked 7th and in 2008 9th. On October 20, 2009, she announced that she would no longer stand as a candidate in the 2010 Vienna state elections. With the Viennese election in October 2010, Marie Ringler resigned from the Vienna City Council and State Parliament.

Since February 2011 she has been the country director and managing director of Ashoka Austria and Central and Eastern Europe, the world's largest support network for social entrepreneurs , responsible for building up the organization.

Jury memberships for the Social Impact Award, SEA Sustainable Entrepreneurship Awards and the company social award fair-finance. She regularly gives lectures and presentations at Austrian and international conferences and has initiated numerous projects and events focusing on social entrepreneurship, impact investing, civil society, European media culture, civil rights and the Internet, women and the Internet, and political communication. Numerous interviews and articles on her activities as well as her own publications have appeared in Austrian and international media.
