Marie Rotkopf (born 1975 in Paris ) is a French writer , poet and artist .

Life

From 1990 to 1991 Rotkopf spent a year in the boarding school of Plön Castle and in the Plön high school. She studied art sociology at the Sorbonne , where she worked on “The social visibility of women artists in France” (La visibilité sociale des femmes artistes en France en 1999) . From 2002 to 2006 she was Head of Communication at the first contemporary art museum MAC VAL, Musée d'art contemporain du Val-de-Marne in the Parisian suburb. In 2007 she founded the Franco-German artist group Internationale Surplace with Daniel Megerle to reflect on Franco-German friendship and Europe. She writes her texts in both German and French.

Rotkopf writes political poetry and deals with the construction and communication of power, war, patriarchy and censorship. She is interested in the rewriting of history and questions "the German consciousness".
