Marie Schmidt , née Marie Müller , ( November 13, 1853 in Dresden - September 11, 1935 ) in Darmstadt was a German theater actress .

Life

Schmidt, the daughter of actors and singers Leonardo and Friederike Müller , née Fabricius, had been on the stage since she was three.

At the age of 15 she got her first independent engagement at the summer theater in Bromberg, where she made her debut as "Wilhelm" in Vetter . From 1874 to 1875 she worked in Augsburg , from 1876 to 1881 in Königsberg, from 1882 to 1885 at the court theater in Schwerin and from 1885 to 1890 at the city theater in Hamburg.

At the age of 31 she switched to the older subject and worked for ten years at the court theater in Karlsruhe. In 1901 she joined the Association of the German People's Theater.

She was a reliable, stage-confident actress who, just as in the past, found a lot of recognition and applause in the amateur and soubrette subject as well as in the subject of the comic elderly and female character roles. Her talent came into its own in both humorous and serious roles. Her main roles are worth mentioning: "Frau Wolf" in beaver fur , "Grandmama", "Hanne" in Wie die Alten sungen , "Albine" in Bartel Turaser etc.
