Marie Unna

Marie Unna (born June 3, 1881 in Schewen (West Prussia), today Szewa (Poland), as Marie Boehm ; † December 23, 1977 in Hamburg ) was a German dermatologist.

Marie Unna was the daughter of a landowner and married to the dermatologist Karl Unna (1880–1964), with whom she had three children. Her father-in-law was the dermatologist Paul Gerson Unna . The son Klaus Unna became a pharmacologist . He emigrated to Austria in 1933 and to the USA in 1937.

Marie Unna's tombstone is in the women's garden at Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg.

1925 Marie Unna described as the first in a north German family a new, previously unknown form of alopecia , the autosomal - dominant inherited. This hereditary disease is now called hereditary congenital hypotrichosis type Marie Unna or also Unna syndrome .
