Mariela Andrea Antoniska Arrondo (born May 20, 1975 in Banfield , Buenos Aires ) is a former Argentine field hockey player . She took part in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens .

Career

Antoniska started her career in Argentina at Lomas Athletic Club. In the same year she won the gold medal at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg . At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney she won the silver medal with the team. A year later, at the Champions Trophy in Amstelveen at the Pan American Cup in Kingston , the gold medal was won. In 2002 Antoniska became world champion in Perth and won the silver medal at the Champions Trophy in Macau . At the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo in 2003 , she repeated her success from 1999 with another tournament victory. She won bronze at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

Mariela Antoniska studied medicine and works as a doctor at Garrahan Hospital in Buenos Aires.
