Mary cross
The Marien-Kreuz was donated on January 10, 1918 by Duke Friedrich II. Von Anhalt and could be awarded to women and virgins who are personally active in the care of wounded and sick soldiers or who otherwise continuously make sacrifices in the field of war welfare have made.
Furthermore, those to be lent had to
- have their place of residence in Anhalt or
- be born in Anhalt or
- hold the citizenship of Anhalt.
The medal is a silver-plated cross made of bronze with oval round cross ends. A crown can be seen in the upper cross arm and the year 1918 in the lower arm . The intertwined initials MF (Maria Friedrich) in the medallion . The Anhalt coat of arms on the reverse.
The award was worn on a dark green ribbon with white side stripes to the ladies' bow on the left breast.
