The Marienchor street in the city 's Old Town in Stralsund connects the new market with the Frankenwall . The road Zipollenhagen and Marie Street branch off from the Marienchor road. It belongs to the core area of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Historic Old Towns Stralsund and Wismar .

The street leading east of the St. Marien Church was built in 1920 when a breakthrough to the Frankenwall was being built; the eastern part of the former rectory at Marienstraße 19 was demolished.

The street got its name after the choir of the Marienkirche, which it passes by. Behind St. Marienchor , a smaller section of today's Marienstraße was previously called until 1869.

Four of the houses along Marienstraße are under monument protection (see also the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund ), namely the houses Marienchorstraße 1 , Marienchorstraße 1a , Marienchorstraße 2 and Marienchorstraße 3 .
