location

The church stands at the east end of Marktstrasse and the old village center, after which newer development begins. A little to the north is the village cemetery.

history

Since the Palatinate church division in 1705, the Hilsbacher Michaelskirche served as a simultaneous church . After the influx of almost 500 displaced people and refugees after the Second World War, the Marienkirche was built in the village, which again had city rights from 1956 until it was incorporated into Sinsheim .

Bells

In 1950 the church received the small bell from the Michael’s Church, which was cast in 1922 by the Bachert bell foundry in Kochendorf ( Bad Friedrichshall ). This bell had already been in the possession of the Catholic community during the previous simultaneous use of St. Michael's Church. In 1958, Friedrich Wilhelm Schilling in Heidelberg had a four-bell cast. The largest bell has the strike note e ', a diameter of 125.1 cm and weighs 1325 kg. The next largest Marienbell has the strike tone g ', a diameter of 101 cm and a weight of 701 kg. The Michael Bell has the strike note a ', a diameter of 91.3 cm and weighs 504 kg. The Josefs bell has the striking note h ', a diameter of 87 cm and a weight of 433 kg.
