War memorial
The church tower, completed in 1933, is a memorial to the men from Vigala who died in the unrest of 1905, World War I and the War of Independence .
The building is an example of the work of the architects Alar Kotli and Karl Lüüs and the sculptor Richard Hammer-Vasard .
The memorial was ceremonially opened on June 30, 1933.
In 1944, on the initiative of Pastor Ferdinand Jürgenson, the name boards of the fallen were whitewashed with lime and the freedom cross was hidden with sheet metal to protect them from being destroyed by the authorities. In the fall of 1950, the two sculptures "Warrior" and "Farmer" were removed and hidden on the initiative of Pastor Agu Põld .
In 1988 the monument was the first to be restored in Estonia.
