Virgin Mary statue (Garitz)
The statue of the Virgin Mary in Garitz , a district of the spa town of Bad Kissingen in the Bavarian Lower Franconia , was made by the sculptor Michael Arnold .
The statue is one of the Bad Kissingen architectural monuments and is registered in the Bavarian Monument List under the number D-6-72-114-169 .
history
The statue donated by the widow Katharina Zinser was inaugurated on December 8, 1877 and, according to the inscription, is the artist's last work. In Bad Bocklet , the sculptor's place of residence, the statue of the Virgin Mary on the Bad Bockleter Stellberg is also considered to be the sculptor's last work.
The 1.70 meter high statue of the Virgin Mary stands on a 1.55 meter high base. The facility includes flower beds and an offering box.
The statue on Garitzer Baptist-Hoffmann-Strasse next to the Volksbank was slightly relocated as part of a renovation in 2001.
