Marina Carr
Marina Carr (born November 17, 1964 in County Offaly ) is an Irish playwright .
life and work
Carr grew up in Tullamore , County Offaly and studied at University College Dublin . After graduating from university, Carr first worked as a writer, first in cooperation with the Abbey Theater and later with Trinity College in Dublin . In 2003 she was Heimbold Professor of Hibernian Studies ( Celtology ) at Villanova University ( Villanova / Pennsylvania ). She is a member of Aosdána .
Her works are known for their black humor and brutality. Your current plays are more of a classical Greek character.

Works
Her works include Low in the Dark (1989), The Mai (1994; associated with a prize), Portia Coughlan (1996), By the Bog of Cats , 1998 (German: Am Katzenmoor) and On Raftery's Hill (2000 ), a dark incest story, and most recently the tragic comedy Woman and Scarecrow (2006).
