The bay in Zarzeczewo

Marina Zarzeczewo is a marina on the right bank of the Vistula ( Włocławskie Reservoir , located at river kilometer 672.50) in the Zawiśle district of the Polish city of Włocławek . The Chełmiczka River and the Święty Strumień Stream flow into the small bay in which the marina is located . Before the water was dammed up at Zarzeczewo, a kilometer-long river island stretched out in the Vistula. The bay in its current form was created through the construction of the dam for the Włocławek hydropower plant and the construction of the largest reservoir in Poland.

In 1973, the implementation of the project “Przystań w Zarzeczewie” ( Wharf in Zarzeczewo ) began, which from the beginning was linked to the development of the chemical company Zakłady Azotowe Włocławek (now Anwil SA ). After that, officially in 1975, but actually in 1976, the Water Sports Center ( Ośrodek Sportów Wodnych ) was opened. The sailing section “Flauta” was founded at the center, later renamed the Yacht Club Azoty and is now called the Yacht Club Anwil . The Yacht Club Anwil has been organizing regular regattas since 1977, including the highest-ranking regatta for the “Blue Ribbon of the Włocławek Lagoon” ( Błękitna Wstęga Zalewu Włocławskiego ). This annual event usually attracts over 300 sailors and over 80 yachts. In Marina Zarzeczewo courses for sailors and yacht skippers are also organized.
