Mario Miguel Mollari

Mario Miguel Mollari (* 1930 in Buenos Aires ; † October 30, 2010 there ) was an Argentine painter and muralist .

Life

Mollari was a self-taught painter. From 1953 he toured Europe, Bolivia, Peru and northern Argentina, and from 1956 his works were regularly shown in art exhibitions.

Mollari, who is renowned both in the national and international art scene, was together with Ricardo Carpani and Juan Manuel Sánchez the founder of the Espartaco group (also Movimento Espartaco, German group Spartakus ), of which he belonged from 1959 to 1968. He had worked with Carpani and Sánchez since 1957 and in 1958 published the Manifiesto por un Arte Revolucionario en América Latina with three other artists . During this time he also began to produce several wall paintings in the style of muralism .

In addition to various other awards, he was honored with the Gran Premio de Honor Presidente de la Nación during his lifetime . He died on October 30, 2010 at the age of 80.
