Mario Silva (born June 11, 1966 ) is a Canadian politician with the Liberal Party of Canada . From 2004 to 2011 he was a Member of the House of Representatives of Canada .

Life

Silva was on to Portugal belonging Azores born. In 1994 he won the election to the city council of Toronto, Canada , defeating Tony O'Donohue with a majority of 15 votes . In 2004 he moved to the federal level as a politician and won a vote against Charles Caccia within the party . As a MP, he won the 2004 elections in the Davenport constituency . After his election to the House of Representatives, Silva was outed in the Toronto Star . In 2006 Silva again defended the constituency for the Liberals.
