Marion Dönhoff Sponsorship Award

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Marion-Dönhoff-Förderpreis of the Robert Bosch Stiftung was awarded annually from 1999 to 2012 to young journalists from the print sector. As with the journalists' award for civic engagement , the foundation honored authors of outstanding media contributions on the subject of civic engagement with the sponsorship award in order to emphasize the importance of this engagement for the future of society. Journalists were honored who, with their reporting, contributed to increasing public awareness and appreciation of civic initiatives for the common good. The award was given to contributions that are exemplary and, if necessary, also critical and ask how and why people take responsibility for themselves and others.

All journalists who applied for the Journalist Prize for Citizenship Commitment with newspaper or magazine articles automatically also took part in the competition for the Marion Dönhoff Sponsorship Award if they were not over 30 years old at the time their article was published. A separate application for the 5,000 euro award was not possible.
