The Marion Nunatakker ( French Sommet Marion ) are a small group of up to 600 m high Nunatakker on the West Antarctic Charcot Island . They loom halfway between Mount Monique and Mount Martine in the north of the island.
Participants in the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908-1910) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot discovered and mapped them on January 11, 1910. Charcot named them after his eldest daughter Marion (1895-1927). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred 1950, the French designation into English. Aerial photographs of the US American Operation Highjump (1946–1947) were used by the British geographer Derek Searle in 1960 for mapping purposes .
