Marion Becker

Marion Becker , b. Steiner (Ebert) (born January 21, 1950 in Hamburg ) is a former German athlete who won the silver medal in the javelin throw at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal (60.66 - 60.52 - 64.70 m - invalid - invalid - invalid). She started at these games in the team of the Federal Republic.

Marion Becker grew up in the GDR (1969: GDR youth champion in the javelin throw, start for SC Karl-Marx-Stadt ) and moved to Romania in 1969 to marry Siegfried Becker, a Romanian of German nationality , who also became her coach . At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , she took part in the javelin throw for Romania, but failed in qualifying. Both Becker and her husband / trainer settled there in Munich.
