Marit Rullmann (* 1953 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German non-fiction author and writer .

Life

After completing an apprenticeship in bookselling and working in libraries for several years, Marit Rullmann studied philosophy and German at the Ruhr University in Bochum. With her two-volume work Philosophinnen , published in 1993 and 1995 , she wrote a popular bestseller in the history of feminist philosophy.

In it she tries to give women philosophers their due place in this intellectual discipline. In 2000 Rullmann (together with her husband Werner Schlegel ) published another book with Women Think Different - Philosophias 1x1 , in which the different ways of thinking and approaches of women and men in the history of philosophy are based on classical philosophical terms (e.g. luck, Justice, freedom, death).

She gave numerous lectures on the subject in Germany and in German-speaking countries. With Annegret Stopczyk, she conceived the traveling exhibition Philosophinnen, Lovers of Wisdom in 2001, which toured over 30 cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland until 2013.
