Marjorie Bowen (actually Gabrielle Margaret Vere Long, née Campbell ; born November 1, 1885 on Hayling Island , Hampshire , † December 23, 1952 in London ) was an English writer .

Margaret Campbell grew up alone with her emotionally unstable mother in depressing circumstances. In her autobiography of 1939, she described her difficult childhood.
