Mark L. Brongersma
Mark Luitzen Brongersma (* 1969 ) is a Dutch physicist in the field of nano-optics .
Brongersma received an MS in Physics from the Technical University of Eindhoven in 1994 and a Ph.D. in 1998. at the FOM Institute for Atomic and Molecular Physics in Amsterdam. From 1998 to 2001 he was a postdoctoral fellow at the California Institute of Technology . He has been working at Stanford University since 2001 , initially as Assistant Professor (until 2008), then as Associate Professor and since 2013 as Professor.
His main research interests are electronic and photonic materials in the nano range as well as light in metal-optical structures and optical properties of semiconductor nanocrystals.
