Mark Mitchell (figure skater, United States)

Mark Mitchell (born May 2, 1968 ) is a former American figure skater who started in a single run .

Mitchell made three national podiums . In 1993 he was runner-up behind Scott Davis . He only appeared at world championships twice, but was extremely successful there. In 1992 he was fifth and in 1993 even fourth and best American, ahead of US champion Davis. After the short program, in which he even got a 6.0 for the presentation, he was even in second place. For the 1992 Olympic Games , he qualified third in the national championships, but the association gave Todd Eldredge , who was missing due to injury, the right of way. At the subsequent World Cup , however, Mitchell placed ahead of Eldredge.

In 1994 Mitchell switched to the pros and toured with Champions on Ice . Today he works with the former Swedish figure skating champion Peter Johansson as a figure skating coach at the Skating Club of Boston.
