Mark Moogalian
Mark Moogalian (born April 24, 1964 in Durham , North Carolina ) is an American lecturer in English at the Sorbonne and a survivor of the attack on the Thalys train 9364 on August 21, 2015.
Life
Moogalian comes from an Armenian family. He lived with his wife Isabelle Risacher on a houseboat in the Seine and was on their way back from Amsterdam on August 21, 2015. He watched Ayoub El Khazzani leave the train toilet armed and armed with ammunition. In order to prevent a massacre of the passengers and in particular of his wife, Moogalian tried to overpower the terrorist together with another passenger. He managed to get the assault rifle in his possession when he was shot with a pistol by Ayoub El Khazzani. He barely survived with the help of other passengers who were finally able to overwhelm the terrorist.
