The building Market Place 5 is a Grade II listed house in Salisbury in England .

It is in the center of Salisbury on the south side of the town's market square. The elongated building borders on Butcher Row on its south side and is at number 10 there.

Architecture and history

The three-story building was built around the first half of the 18th century. The gable ends to the north and south are very narrow. In front of the upper floors there is a bay-like porch on both sides . A balcony is attached to the bay window on the north side. In the early 19th century, the first floor of the house was given shop fronts that were later modernized. Currently (as of 2019) there is a fish and chip snack bar in the building, which can be entered from both sides of the street.

It has been listed as a monument since February 28, 1952 and is listed as a building of national importance and special interest in the Grade II category of the English list of monuments .
