Markies variety

Markies is a medium-late type of potato that is mainly used to make French fries . She is a cross of Fianna x Agria . The dormancy is very pronounced. Markies is susceptible to scab and the leaf roll virus. The tubers are rather large. In terms of cooking type, it is fairly waxy to floury, its dark skin and white-yellow meat color are striking. The breeder is Agrico . It should be noted that some literature sources advise against the use of the herbicidal active ingredient metribuzin in post-emergence treatments.
