Markus Dudler (born January 7, 1981 ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

After completing his apprenticeship as an electronics technician with a technical vocational baccalaureate , Dudler trained as an electronics / automation HF technician at the Basel AGS general vocational school. He successfully completed this training in 2011. Dudler works as a test engineer for an international provider of measuring devices, services and solutions for process engineering. He heads an internal calibration laboratory for electrical measuring equipment and is involved in the development of test strategies and operating equipment for electronics production.

His first political office at municipal level was a member of the Environment and Energy Commission as the successor to Andreas Schäfer. In 2011 Dudler succeeded Andreas Gauch as a parish commissioner. After two years in the function of actuary, he was elected Vice-President of the Commission for the period 2016-2018. In 2018, he was elected President of the Municipal Commission, unofficially the "highest" Arlesheimer. From the circle of the community commission, Dudler was elected to the business audit commission in 2014, whose presidium he held from 2016 to 2018. After the election as president of the municipal commission in 2018, he handed over the presidium of the GPK. In the renewal elections on February 9, 2020, Dudler was re-elected to the Arlesheim municipal commission for another four years.

At the cantonal level, Dudler was elected a federal delegate by the CVP Baselland in 2008 and as such represents the interests of the cantonal party several times a year at the party congresses of the CVP Switzerland . In 2015, he was elected to the Basel cantonal parliament, the district administrator . He is a member of the Environmental Protection and Energy Commission and the Petitions Commission, which deals with initiatives from the people, naturalizations, pardons and requests for exemption from fines. Dudler is the teller of the CVP / GLP parliamentary group and a substitute member of the education, culture and sports committee. In the cantonal elections on March 31, 2019, Dudler was re-elected as district administrator in the Münchenstein / Arlesheim constituency for four more years.

Engagements, hobbies

Dudler was a lifeguard at SLRG Birseck, on whose board he was active - both as a material manager and as vice-president. At Jugend und Sport (J + S) he trained as a swimming leader. At the SLRG he led a youth group for a few years. His sporting passion is scuba diving and he also plays the French horn . Dudler is an active honorary member of the Arlesheim Music Association and participates in projects of the Trirhenum Symphony Orchestra. He was a trumpeter in military music .
