Markus Foser (born January 31, 1968 in Balzers ) is a former Liechtenstein ski racer .

Foser contested his first race in the World Cup in March 1992 . After seven races in which he was never better than 24th, he had one of the biggest surprises in the history of the World Cup on December 17, 1993 when he won the downhill race in Val Gardena with start number 66 . It was favored by the fact that as the race progressed, the sun came out from behind the Langkofel and the sunlight in particular made the upper part of the route faster.

With his victory, he is the only Liechtenstein World Cup downhill winner alongside Marco Büchel . In the following years Foser did not manage to repeat this surprise victory. He was only able to place in the top ten twice. After the 1996/97 season, he ended his skiing career.

In 1994 he was voted Sportsman of the Year in Liechtenstein .
