Markus Fuchs (born February 24, 1980 in Rottweil ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
He started at SV Zimmer until he moved to the second team of 1. FC Nürnberg in 2000 . In 2003 he moved to SC Pfullendorf and in 2005 to SpVgg Bayreuth . There he played for a year in the Regionalliga Süd, before relegating with the club to the Bayernliga. In the following season he scored 17 goals and had one game in the DFB Cup, a year later he scored 14 goals. For the 2008/09 season he returned to 1. FC Nürnberg II, who had been promoted to the Regionalliga, and became a successful striker there.
On November 16, he made his first professional appearance at the age of 28 when he was substituted on in the 90th minute of the first team's away game in the second Bundesliga against FC Ingolstadt 04 . His shirt number was 27. Since the strikers of the first team were in better shape again, it took until April 26, 2009, before he was used there again.
In the Regionalliga, he was the sixth-best striker in the league with 16 goals. For a long time he was the most successful goalscorer in FCN II, but eventually Ahmet Kulabas passed him, who achieved second place in the list of goalscorers with 18 goals.
Before the 2009/10 season he was not listed as a member of the first team and therefore officially only belonged to 1. FC Nürnberg II. There he suffered a metatarsal fracture on August 16, 2009, which meant he was out for two months. Overall, he came in the first half of the 2009/10 season on one goal in eight missions and helped FCN II to the autumn championship. During the winter break he signed a two and a half year contract in Saarbrücken. There he had his first appearance on February 23, 2010 in an away game against Eintracht Trier. He scored both goals in a 2-2 draw. At the end of the season he rose to the third division with the club. After the 2011/12 season, Fuchs initially wanted to end his career, but then signed a new contract with the regional division Eintracht Trier . In 2013 he left Trier and ended his career a short time later.
