Markus Hofer (musician)

Markus Hofer (* 1949 ) is a Swiss flautist and composer .

Life

Hofer studied flute with Pierre-André Bovey in Bern and with Urs Lehmann in Basel. He then became a member of the quartet ensemble miniature and the ensemble Intercity Flute Players (double bass flute ). He also works as a music teacher at various music schools.

He has been composing since 1993. From 2003 to 2004 Hofer studied composition with Michel Roth at the Lucerne School of Music . From 2005 to 2008 he studied composition with Isabel Mundry at the Zurich Conservatory . Since 2008 he has also been part of the organization team of the Festival L'art pour l'Aar .
