Markus López (born June 17, 1972 in Mexico City ) is a former Mexican soccer player who was used either in defense or in (defensive) midfield .

Life

López spent the first two years (1992 to 1994) of his professional career with Querétaro FC as well as his last two seasons ( 2003/04 and 2004/05 ). He was also under contract with Tecos UAG and Club Necaxa for several years . In addition, he had short-term engagements at Club América , Puebla FC and his only stay abroad, Club al Ain .

Between 1995 and 1997 López Winkler completed a total of nine international appearances for the Mexican national team . He made his debut in a friendly on October 11, 1995 against Saudi Arabia, which was won 2-1. Against the same opponent he denied on 14 December 1997, his last international appearance as part of the in Saudi Arabia discharged Confederations Cup 1997 . Although Mexico won the game 5-0, "El Tri" was eliminated after the preliminary round, as was the host.

After finishing his active career, López held the post of vice-president of his long-term club Querétaro FC from September 2012 until his resignation in May 2013.
