Markus Reitsamer (born January 19, 1959 in Salzburg ) is an Upper Austrian politician ( Greens ). From 2009 to 2015 he was a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag .

education and profession

Reitsamer attended elementary school in Bad Ischl and subsequently graduated from the Bundesrealgymnasium in Bad Ischl, which he completed in 1977 with the Matura . Reitsamer then studied biology at the University of Salzburg from 1977 to 1980 . Reitsamer attended training and further education as an environmental expert in the community, completed a training seminar on energy consulting and management as well as the mobility management course. In addition, he attended the disaster control seminars I and II of the Upper Austrian State Fire Brigade Command and completed special training (Austrian Special Forces) with the armed forces .

Reitsamer works as a social worker with the unemployed and homeless and as a youth worker in a private school.

politics

Reitsamer was a co-founder of the bad ischl Spezial citizens' initiative in 1991 and represented it in the Bad Ischl municipal council from 1991 to 2003. Since 2003 he has represented the Greens as parliamentary group chairman in the local council, on October 23, 2009 he was sworn in as a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament. Reitsamer was the area spokesman for traffic and safety.
