Markus Zadra

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Markus Zadra (born January 26, 1965 in Bozen ) is a seven-time kickboxing world champion and delegate of the official Italian professional sports association FITA (Federazione Italiana Taekwondo) in South Tyrol. Since his youth he has devoted himself to martial arts from the Far East, especially karate , kickboxing and, since 2000, Taekwondo .

Life

In 1981 Zadra became a member of the Auer karate club and after two years switched from karate to kickboxing. In 1986 he passed the first Dan (master's degree) in kickboxing from the Italian professional sports association FIAM (Federazione Italiana Arti Marziali), which has now been renamed FIKBMS (Federazione Italiana Kickboxing Muay Thai Savate Shoot Boxe) and the official professional sports association in kickboxing in the national Olympic Committee (CONI). The world association is the WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organizations). In 1988 he was called up for the first time in the national team. In the same year he passed the 2nd Dan exam and concentrated on the discipline of semicontact in kickboxing. In 1991 he passed the 3rd Dan exam and in 1995 he was awarded the 4th Dan by the Fachsportverband after he won the World Amateurs Championship in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart.

On April 21, 1995 Markus Zadra was awarded the sporting honor and the golden badge of honor of the State of South Tyrol for special services to South Tyrolean sport from Governor Dr. Luis Durnwalder presented.

Markus Zadra ended his active career as a kickboxer in 2000 as the reigning world champion of the WAKO-Pro. As a sign of his services to sport at home and abroad, World President Dr. Ennio Falsoni was awarded the 5th Dan.

In 2000, inspired by the Taekwondo fights at the Olympic Games in Sydney, Markus Zadra started all over again. His vision was to enable the young athletes in South Tyrol to do what they had not been able to do: the Olympic Games. Kickboxing is not Olympic. Olympic Far Eastern martial arts are only judo and taekwondo. He was thus the pioneer in the small German-speaking province in Italy, especially since there was no official Taekwondo school of the Italian professional sports association FITA in the entire region. In 2002 he passed the examination for the 1st Dan (master's degree) and in the same year the examination for a trainer with a C license in Olympic Taekwondo. Thus in South Tyrol the course was set for the spread of this Korean martial art on a local level. A year later he passed the 2nd Dan exam and the exam to become a trainer with a B license. In 2004 he was appointed by the Italian Sports Association to be responsible for the Trentino / South Tyrol region and still holds this position today. A year later he passed the 3rd Dan exam. In 2006 he succeeded in intervening successfully in Rome and enforcing sports autonomy in Taekwondo for South Tyrol and Trentino. This was preceded by few years of cooperation with the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, into which South Tyrol and Trentino were incorporated. In 2008 he passed the exam to become a trainer with an A license and a year later the exam for 4th Dan and in 2013 for 5th Dan.

In February 2009 he was appointed by the President of the Italian Taekwondo Association FITA and the Vice-President of the World Association WTF, Dr. Sun Jae Park honored for its services to the sport of Taekwondo in Italy.

In June 2010 he received two international awards. From the hands of the President of the ETU (European Taekwondo Union) Athanasios Pragalos and the General Secretary Gerrit Eissink, he received the award for his commitment to Taekwondo in Europe. The Austrian Taekwondo Association OTDV under President Ma. Bernhard Brugger and Secretary General Christian Huber awarded him the gold medal for special services to the Taekwondo sport.
