Course of the road
|
The Marlborough Highway is a road in the center of the Australian state of Tasmania . It connects the Lake Highway with the Lyell Highway and thus forms a shortcut to the otherwise long route from the west coast to the central highlands of the island.
course
The highway branches off 3 km south of Brontë Park from the Lyell Highway and heads northeast, where it meets the Lake Highway about 2 km north of Miena on Great Lake . It runs east of the Pine Tier Lagoon and along the south and south-east banks of the Little Pine Lagoon . Shortly before reaching the Lake Highway, she crosses the Ouse River .
With the exception of Brontë Park, there are no settlements on this road. The unpaved road is closed in heavy snow.
